The story behind Fluxmere

Fluxmere Glamping Retreat, formerly ‘Bloomfield Camping’, was acquired in Oct 2025 by the Flux and Hand family. The two families partnered up following the loss of their beloved son, brother and friend – Fluxy – and wanted to create an outdoor escape for friends and family to enjoy those precious times together.

Daniel Flux (Fluxy) was a very well-loved vibrant character who loved to live life to the full, touching many people’s lives over his 36 years, making a huge circle of friends and creating many fun memories along the way with his joyful outlook on life.


Fluxmere has been created in the memory of Daniel reflecting his sunny personality, creating a space to spend quality time with those nearest and dearest, bringing families and friends together, sharing stories and making precious memories whilst enjoying the outdoor simple lifestyle.

Alex (Fluxy’s little sister), is Fluxmere’s Campsite Manager. Fluxmere was her vision when she fell in love with the site and wanted to fulfil her dream in escaping the ‘9-5’ to live a slower off-grid lifestyle. She is supported by her parents and the Hand’s including their two young children.
